Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(August 12, 2023)
MEETING OPENED:
Meeting called to order at 6:35pm by our President, Bill Nelson at Amante Pizza and Pasta, in Kent, WA.
ATTENDANCE:
The meeting total attendance was 9.
GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
No guests and no new members attended this Club Meeting.
SECRETARY’S REPORT:
Bob Stevenson read a condensed version of the July club meeting minutes.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Tom Willett read the treasurer’s report.
CORRESPONDENCE:
There was no correspondence received recently.
GUEST SPEAKER OF THE MONTH:
There was no guest speaker.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Wally Santella reported that the Northwest Muscle Car Meet had 52 registrations with 57 cars. For comparison, there were 97 cars registered in 2022. Of the cars registered this year, 29 were club members. It was discussed that we might survey members as to what they are looking for at events and what prevents them from attending. It was also discussed that it would be helpful to have a general flyer ready very early in the year for the club’s events. Possibly list the three main car shows on one side, with a membership form on the other. These could be handed out by members and also left at businesses early in the year when people are making their plans for the summer.
OLD BUSINESS:
There was no old business to discuss.
NEW BUSINESS:
David Gale asked if a link to the newsletter could be added to the website.
Tom Willett discussed the scholarships that the club will be donating money to. He talked to Marvin from the Hot Rod Hall of Fame at the Muscle Car Meet. The club will donate $2000 to their organization at their September banquet. In addition, Renton VoTech will receive a $1000 donation from the club.
Next month’s meeting will be held on September 9th, because of the Labor Day holiday.
2023 Event schedule:
Picnic at Ted’s: Aug 26.
50/50 RAFFLE: There was no 50/50 raffle.
SHOP TALK: Wally and several others discussed projects they are working on.
MEETING ADJOURNED:
The club’s business meeting adjourned at 7:40pm by our President, Bill Nelson. The next club meeting will be Saturday, September 9th at 6:00pm at Amante Pizza and Pasta, 21020 84th Ave South, Kent, WA.
